Wycombe High School Re-launches Just Giving Charity Site
It is with great pleasure that we announce the re-launch of Wycombe High School on Just Giving. JustGiving helps ordinary people raise extraordinary amounts of funds. Now any student, parent, member of staff or alumnae can fundraise for the ‘Play Your Part’ Campaign to develop and new Music Centre for the school and wider community. The 'Play Your Part' campaign calls on everybody in our school community to use their many talents and skills in order to raise these funds. We have three campaigns going so far…
In a moment of sheer brilliance (or madness, you decide!), the Music Department at Wycombe High School decided to present the staff and friends of WHS with a challenge; to learn a new instrument and pass a Grade One exam in six months. Participants were sponsored to raise money for the ‘Play Your Part’ campaign to raise £1 million to build a new Music block and upgrade our Performing Arts facilities in other parts of the school, work that is desperately needed. Together they raised over £12K reaching 127% of their target! Not only that, but each of the participants passed - many with merits and distinctions. A fabulous effort by all.
Steve Roy, Father of Megan 8C B3 and President of the Play Your Part Development Board, ran the Bisham half marathon raising over £700.
James Campanini, Father of Emily in 8E P4 and Vice President of the Play Your Part Development Board, cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats – that is from the very bottom to the very top of the United Kingdom – give or take, about a thousand miles raising over £3K.
It’s up to all of us to amaze and inspire others to find ways to fundraise for Wycombe High School. And it couldn’t be easier; just log onto Wycombe High School’s JustGiving website and make a free online fundraising page in minutes then e-mail it to friends and family. They can donate online easily and safely with a credit/debit card.
The money goes straight to the Wycombe High School Fund. If you’re not up for a personal challenge yourself there are plenty of campaigns to support. Please dig deep and support our fundraisers. All funds will go towards ‘Play Your Part’.
You can also text a donation to 70070 followed by the code PLYP12 and the amount of money you’d like to give (£1, £2, £2, £4, £5 or £10). You will then receive a text message receipt and the chance to add Gift Aid (by filling in a web form or by text message).
