Traditions
Wycombe High School has been providing education for young women since 1901. Today we match the very best of the school’s traditions and core values with a forward thinking and innovative approach. We are constantly developing and evolving our curriculum and facilities. We are never complacent and constantly strive to further build on our reputation as one of the best selective grammar schools nationally. We are passionate about single sex education and the extraordinary benefits it brings our students.
High Aspirations
We treat each student as an individual. We care about her future and work with her to develop not only her academic success, but her self-belief and care for others. We are dedicated to ensuring she leaves school ready for adult life in a changing world. She will have achieved at a high level academically and be confident to make informed choices. We will support her to work for change where it is needed. We encourage flexibility and open mindedness.
Ethos
Our school motto summarises our ethos and sense of community. All those who study, work or send their children to our school are part of this community and are role models for our ethos. We provide an environment in which each member of our community can live and learn, Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter (courageously, faithfully and joyfully).
Courageously
Each student is encouraged to embrace our core values of honesty, respect and hard work. She will be encouraged to speak out against all injustice, supported to take risks, and not be afraid of failure. She will learn new subjects and skills. She will push herself to her personal limits and beyond. She will be encouraged to listen to the opinions of others, as well as to give them. She will accept responsibility for herself and other students. She will lead the school in partnership with staff and the governing body. She will become increasingly independent and innovative in thought and action.
Faithfully
Every student will be expected to uphold our school rules and traditions. She will act with integrity and be truthful and honest in all she does. She will keep promises and be reliable. She will work hard to achieve her full potential. Above all she will be a good friend, a good neighbour and a good citizen. She will contribute positively to school life and society.
Joyfully
All our students contribute to making our school the happy and joyful place it is. Each student demonstrates mutual respect and empathy for all; is proud of her own achievements and those of others. She shows commitment to a fair and peaceful community and embraces diversity. Our students are happy and positive in approach; and support others to do the same.
Knowledge
We are a high attaining school and academic success is important to us. However we place just as much value on the other types of knowledge our students need to take an effective part in an increasing global society. We foster each student’s strengths and discover new ones. We work with her to ensure she is adaptable, self directed, critical thinking, creative and innovative. We ensure she develops good social and cross cultural skills.
Beyond the Classroom
Each student at Wycombe High School has the opportunity to gain qualifications suited to her potential and at a pace matched to her abilities. She will also discover herself and her talents. Our school community provides one of the widest ranges of GCSE and A-level subject choices possible. We also offer a huge range of extra curricular clubs and societies: music, drama, dance, debate, hockey, netball, gymnastics, lacrosse, football, rugby, cricket, trampolining, textiles, computing, Duke of Edinburgh, World Challenge and so the list could continue.

We provide each individual with a safe and secure environment in which to develop both academically and as a whole person.
